Each experimental unit consists of a transparent FEP enclosure with a volume of 4m\u00b3<\/strong> and a technical room housing a soil monolith of up to 1m\u00b3 and a vegetation surface of up to 1m\u00b2. <\/p>\n Suivant le m\u00eame principe de fonctionnement, qui a d\u00e9j\u00e0 fait ses preuves sur la plate-forme macrocosmes, les unit\u00e9s exp\u00e9rimentales m\u00e9socosmes permettent la simulation<\/strong> et la mesure d\u2019une large gamme de sc\u00e9narios environnementaux<\/strong> tout en b\u00e9n\u00e9ficiant d\u2019un nombre de r\u00e9plication sup\u00e9rieur, d\u2019une mesure plus sensible des flux, d\u2019une r\u00e9gulation de CO2 allant de l\u2019\u00e8re pr\u00e9industrielle \u00e0 plusieurs fois l\u2019ambiant, ainsi que d\u2019un marquage continu en 13<\/sup>C.<\/p>\n Designed as a flexible research tool<\/strong>, each unit allows for the measurement of ecosystem fluxes<\/strong> of photosynthesis<\/strong>, respiration<\/strong>, and evapotranspiration<\/strong>, as well as those of the main greenhouse gases (CH4 <\/sub>and N2O<\/sub>)<\/strong>. The modularity of the “soil” compartment allows it to meet different monolith size requirements, and the choice of light source, natural or artificial, gives this device an additional advantage in the
