L’Ecotron est une unit\u00e9 d\u2019appui et de recherche de<\/strong> l\u2019Institut d\u2019\u00e9cologie et d\u2019environnement (INEE) <\/a>du CNRS<\/strong>. It is open to national and international research teams in the fields of ecology<\/strong>, population and community biology<\/strong>, and agronomy<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The Ecotron<\/strong> allows for the simultaneous climate conditioning<\/strong> of ecosystems of different sizes and the online measurement<\/strong> of material and energy flows linked to various ecophysiological processes.
This research infrastructure acts as an interface between experiments conducted in situ and those carried out in the laboratory.<\/p>\n

Ecotron’<\/strong>s research topics include fundamental questions about biogeochemical cycles and the role of biodiversity in ecosystems.
However, the infrastructure is open to other scientific fields (epigenetics, paleoclimatology, etc.) that require the observation of samples under controlled environmental conditions.<\/p>\n

The construction of the Ecotron<\/strong> is co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund<\/strong> (ERDF), AnaEE France<\/a>, the Occitanie Region<\/strong>, and the CNRS’s Committee for Very Large Research Infrastructures<\/strong> (TGIR).<\/p>\n
